Attorney Steven Addington of Des Moines; repeat offender

The state of Iowa provided Steven Lloyd Addington with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from Drake University Law School.

The Iowa Supreme Court Disciplinary Counsel found Stevie guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Steve’s advertisements as a specialist in certain areas of law were clearly improper because he failed to comply with the eligibility requirements for practicing in those areas. Put simply, Stevie was engaged in false advertising!

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Knowingly made a false statement of material fact to a trial court for the purpose of obtaining a continuance

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Stevie by gifting him with another complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2014), Stevie is employed as an assistant public defender by the Iowa Public Defender’s Office in Des Moines, Iowa.
