Judge Simon Brown of Cirencester, UK; ethical gremlin

The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico provided Juan Manuel Perez-Gimenez with a law license in 1968 after he graduated from the University of Puerto Rico Law School.

Simon was appointed to the bench in 2006. He wasn’t appointed because he was the most qualified barrister in the area. He was appointed because he had proven to be a reliable lackey by the local political hacks.

The Judicial Commission found Simon guilty of the following misconduct.

Simon lifted (plagiarized) “word for word” chunks of one side’s written arguments in his written opinion before condemning entrepreneur, Declan Crinion and his elderly father, Tommy, to a life of penury (indulgency).

The Court of Appeal spanked Simon’s plagiarism and warned that such “thoroughly bad practice” must never happen again.

Lord Justice Underhill said that “almost all of Judge Brown's ruling was 'taken word for word' from written submissions put in by financial brokers, IG Markets Ltd, who sued the Crinions after they lost a fortune gambling on derivatives at the height of the financial crisis.

Here we have a loser that is paid £129,579-a-year ($207,959 that is to lazy to do his own work and finds it acceptable to take credit for the work of others.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Simon by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2014), Simon continues to sit as a judge in the Midland Court in Cirencester, United Kingdom, which is about 90 miles west of London.
