Judge Brenda Sanders of Detroit; loony loser

The state of Michigan presented Brenda K. Sanders with a law license in 1985 after she graduated from the University of Detroit Law School.

In September 2014, the Michigan Supreme Court suspended Judge Sanders for judicial misconduct and contempt. It is alleged that Brenda failed to submit to a court ordered psychiatric evaluation.

In a petition to the Supreme Court asking that Brenda be suspended, the Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission cited “psychotic delusions” as one of the reasons for her suspension. The Commission cited a psychiatrist’s report that concluded Brenda is “psychotic” and shouldn’t judge people until she gets better. The commission also alleged that Brenda engaged in fraud when she took an extended sick leave for an alleged knee problem last September, collecting a paycheck ever since, but without reporting to work.

The Commission went on to cite a doctor’s report that stated there was no serious knee problem that justified Brenda not working. The psychiatrist hired by the Commission, stated in a sworn affidavit:

“I believe that Judge Sanders is psychotic and suffers from insane delusions at this time and is likely to remain so indefinitely.”

“She should not be sitting in judgment of anyone until she is determined to be free of the psychosis and insane delusions that render her a danger to self and others.”

As one would suspect, this isn’t Brenda’s First bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree. In 2001, Brenda’s law license was suspended for 60 days because she forged her clients’ signatures on an affidavit, and then lied to ethics investigators about it.

Hopefully, the prosecutor in Wayne County will go after Brenda for defrauding the taxpayers by collecting a paycheck by feigning injury to her knees.

As we speak (ca. October 2014), Brenda has been suspended without pay. Hopefully, the Michigan Surpeme Court will order that she be permanently disbarred, which means she can never again sit as a judge in Michigan.
