Attorney Michael Richter of San Diego; moron, repeat offender

The state of California provided Michael Philip Richter with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from Cal Western University Law School in San Diego.

The California State Bar Court found Mike guilty of the following misconduct.

Mike’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to provide competent representation (Moron)
  • Failed to return client phone calls
  • Improperly withdrew from client representation

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary private reproval.

Mike’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to obtain an endorsement of a $3,000 settlement check
  • Retained client check for nearly two years
  • Two year retention of client check led to it being dishonored
  • Failed to authorize insurance company to issue new check
  • Misled client by telling him he would negotiate with medical providers

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 6-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the California State Bar Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Mike.

  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Mike!)
  • Failed to return client file to client after being discharged

  • Took no steps to protect client’s interests

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. September 2014) Mike practices at 438 Camino Del Rio Street in San Diego, California.
