Attorney Nuru Witherspoon of Dallas; ethical gremlin

The state of Texas presented Nuru Lateef Witherspoon with a law license in 2003 after he graduated from the University of Mississippi Law School.

The District 6 Grievance Committee found Nuru guilty of the following misconduct

• Failed to surrender client papers to client upon being fired
• Failed to make reasonable efforts to assure that conduct of office employees was compatible with his professional obligations

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Joey by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Texas Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Nuru.
