Judge Peter Corrigan of Cleveland; convicted drunk, lifetime porker

The state of Ohio presented Peter James Corrigan in 1996 after he graduated from Cleveland State University Law School.

Pete has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough since he received his law license in 1996. From 1996 through 2004, Pete was employed as an assistant Cuyahoga County prosecutor. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the Cleveland area was about to offer Pete a good paying job.

The Supreme Court Disciplinary Counsel found Pete guilty of the following misconduct.

In one incident, Pete the Drunk was discovered by a Cleveland Metropark ranger slumped over the steering wheel of his car, which was stopped at an intersection at 4:30 a.m. along Valley Parkway by Cedar Point Road in the Rocky River Reservation, during a time when the car’s transmission was in the drive position and Pete’s foot was on the brake.

Subsequently, Pete pleaded no contest [guilty in reality] to the criminal charges and was then found guilty by Rocky River Municipal Court judge Donna Congeni Fitzsimmons on charges of operating a vehicle while under the influence (OVI) and impeding traffic.

Pete was placed on probation for one year, fined $500, and order to attend a three-day intervention program. An unreliable source indicated that Pete opted to attend the Mel Gibson Sobriety Institute located in Malibu, California.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Drunks and Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Pete by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2014), Pete remains sitting (when sober) as a Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge in Cleveland, Ohio.
