Attorney Brian Steffensen of Salt Lake City; cheating loser

The state of Utah presented Brian W. Steffensen with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from Santa Clara University Law School.

The Ethics and Discipline Committee of the Utah Supreme Court found Brian guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Brian met with a potential client for a free consultation. The client met with Brian for a second time and paid for the consultation.

Brian failed to explain the terms of his retention to the client. Brian charged his client even though he failed to perform any meaningful work on the client’s case.

In fact, Brian failed to file a response to a lawsuit that had been filed against his client and also failed to file for a continuance of an upcoming hearing.

Brian’s conduct resulted in him charging or collecting a clearly unreasonable fee. Put simply, Brian is a cheating loser.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Utah Supreme Court punished Brian by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2014) Brian practices at 345 East 400 Street in Salt Lake City, Utah.
