Judge Cory Woodward of Bakersfield, CA; liar, repeat offender

The state of California presented Cory Jerome Woodward with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from the University of Pacific McGeorge Law School located in Sacramento.

Cory has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough since he received in his law license in 1987 (27 years). It is painfully clear that no self-respecting law firm in the greater Bakersfield area was about to offer Cory a good paying job.

In 2006, former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger was duped into appointing Cory as a Kern County Superior Court Judge. Cory didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the Bakersfield area. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks. 

The Calfiornia Judicial Commission found Cory guilty of the following misconduct.

From July 2012 through May 2013, Cory was involved in a sexual relationship with a courtroom clerk that had been assigned to him.

Cory found it acceptable to screw the taxpayers for the time he spent screwing the clerk in his publicly funded chambers. Cory also engaged in sexual activity with his designated clerk in various public places.

In addition, Cory regularly used the court’s computers to exchange personal emails or texts with his clerk that we obviously unrelated to any court business. On occasion, Cory passed notes of a sexual nature to the clerk during court proceedings.

On several occasions during February and May 2013, the court executive office, deputy court executive officer, presiding judge, assistant presiding judge and supervising judge spoke with Cory and expressed their concerns about his relationship with the clerk. They all recommended that the clerk be reassigned due to possible security concerns raised by the clerk’s husband’s contact with the court. On each and every occasion, Cory misled (lied) to court administrators and his superior officers into believing that there was no need to reassign the clerk and about the nature of his relationship with the clerk.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Cory’s First bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary admonishment for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

The Patron Saints for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Calfiornia Judicial Commission punished Cory the Lying Loser by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. September 2014), Cory remains sitting as a Kern County Superior Court judge in Bakersfield, California.
