Attorney Randy Netzer of La Crosse, WI; convicted stalker

The state of Wisconsin presented Randy J. Netzer with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from the University of Iowa Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Randy guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, a woman terminated her relationship with Netzer and told him to not try to contact her. Nonetheless Randy sent an email and a postcard to the woman.

After the woman contacted the police and claimed that Netzer was stalking her, police officers contacted Netzer and advised him to have no contact of any kind with the woman. When police officers found Netzer jogging near the woman one evening, they arrested him, and he was charged with felony stalking.

A trial court subsequently issued a harassment injunction against Randy. After the injunction was issued, Randy placed multiple “Happy/Sunshine” ads in a newspaper with personal notes to the woman. The ads violated the no-contact injunction, and as a result, additional charges were filed against him.

As part of conditions of Randy’s release, he was fitted with a GPS device so that police officers would know if he entered any prohibited areas. Randy did enter such areas, resulting in a further charge of felony bail jumping.

Subsequently, Randy Netzer pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of violating a harassment injunction.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Randy’s First Bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Randy by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. August 2014) Randy practices at 1229 Johnson Street in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
