Attorney Michael Diamond of Berlin, NJ; biased loser

The state of New Jersey presented Michael Andrew Diamond with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from Widener University Law School.

Mike’s misconduct took place while he was sitting as a Winslow Township municipal court judge. The Judicial Conduct Committee found Mike guilty of the following misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2014), Mike practices in the Berlin, New Jersey area.

On one matter, Mike participated in prohibited ex-part (one-sided) conversations with a municipal prosecutor, during which he gave his opinion on elements of an alleged drunk driving case and went about referring to himself and the prosecutor as “we.”

The recorded conversation between Mike and the prosecutor was the result of a culture in Diamond's forum in which the prosecution received significantly more access to the judge than defense counsel. Diamond tolerated, if not encouraged, that culture.

The ethics panel ruled that Mike was on overly cozy terms with the prosecution and critiqued a defense counsel's case during an improper sidebar conversation without the defense attorney being present.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
