Judge Chester Muroski of Wilkes-Barre, PA; arrogant loser

The state of Pennsylvania presented William G. Young with a law license in 1966 after he graduated from Temple University Law School.

For the past forty-five (45) years (1969 to 2014), Chester has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the Wilkes-Barre area was about to offer Chester a good paying job.

After retiring from the bench at the age of 70 in 2009, Chester took on employment as a senior judge. As a senior judge, Chester is paid $534 for each day he works even if its one hour or less.

After serving 24 years as a family court judge in Luzerne County, Chester was assigned to the civil and criminal court to new offices that were across the street from his old digs.

Chester was of the opinion that the new offices were in an “atrocious” condition and went about spending $19,445 of taxpayer money on a makeover, which included the following:

  • $6,595 for a chair, bookcase, credenza and desk
  • $3,891 for carpeting
  • $3,250 for new wallpapering and painting

It is amazing that County executives allow judges to expend whatever they want to re-furnish their chambers. Since they make nearly $190,000 a year, they should be made to fund any unnecessary remakes of their chambers and not the taxpayers.

As we speak (ca. August 2014), Chester continues to receive appointments as a senior judge in Luzerne County.
