Judge James Osborne of Dallas; GA; ethical dwarf

The state of New York presented Anya A. Tendler with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from the University of Georgia Law School.

In one matter, it is alleged that an egregious conflict of interest came about when it was discovered that hundreds of bonds for people that had appeared before Judge Osborne, came from a company called Freedom Bail Bonds.

The evidence shows that Jimmy’s long-time secretary was married to the owner of Freedom Bail Bonds. In addition, Jimmy’s wife, attorney Carol S. Osborne, signed the incorporation documents for Freedom Bail Bonds.

One can imagine that Jimmy’s defense will be that he was totally ignorant that his secretary and/or her husband were the owners of Freedom Bail Bonds.

Shortly after the Georgia Judicial Qualifications Commission opened up an investigation into Jimmy’s conduct, he took the cowards way out and announced his retirement effective October 1, 2014, which then prevents the Commission from meting out any punishment to Jimmy.

As we speak (ca. September 2014), Jimmy remains sitting as a Paulding County Superior Court Judge.
