Attorney D. Olcott Thompson of Salem, OR; repeat offender

The state of Oregon provided D. Olcott Thompson with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from Williamette University Law School.

The Oregon State Bar found Olcott guilty of the following misconduct

  • Failed to file timely appeal notice on client’s behalf
  • Failed to act with due diligence
  • Failed to advise client of status of legal matter
  • Negligence led to client’s lawsuit being dismissed by trial court
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up Yours, said Olcott!)
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct

As one would suspect, this isn’t Olcott’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a 30-day suspension for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oregon Supreme Court punished Olcott by gifting him with a complimentary 120-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. August 2014) Olcott practices with D. Olcott Thompson PC at 270 Cottage Street NE in Salem, Oregon.
