Attorney Eric Akers of Ashland, OH; ethical gremlin

The state of Ohio presented Eric Jonathan Akers with a law license in 1973 after he graduated from Ohio Northern University Law School. 

Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found Eric guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaging in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
• Improperly shared legal fees with non-attorney
• Misconduct involved multiple offenses
• Repeatedly allowed secretary to sign his name to court filings
• Through willful ignorance allowed secretary to steal $300,000

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Eric by gifting him with a complimentary 12-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Eric.
