Judge Leon Emanuel III of Shreveport; lazy loser

The state of Louisiana presented Leon L. Emanuel III with a law license in 1978 after he graduated from Southern University Law School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The Judiciary Commission of Louisiana found Leon guilty of the following misconduct.

Leon found it acceptable to work “far less hours per week than what was required by law and was also absent from his office a considerable part of each week. In addition, Leon knowingly deprived attorneys and litigants access to his court because he refused to set trial dates in accordance with the local court rule.

Over a period exceeding two years, Leon intentionally refused to set status conferences or issue scheduling orders establish discovery cut-off and trial dates. In at least five cases, Leon denied litigants access to his court by intentionally refusing to set and convene status conferences or issue scheduling orders.

Leon also refused to timely sign ex-parte orders regarding perfunctory default judgments due to a defendant’s failure to respond to a lawsuit.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Leon by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. August 2014), Leon continues to be employed as a Caddo Parish District Court Judge in Shreveport, Louisiana.
