Attorney William Bays of Haltom City, TX; ethical misfit

The state of Texas presented William David Bays with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from the University of Texas Law School.

The Disciplinary Commission found Billy guilty of the following misconduct

In on matter, Billy arranged for the pretrial release of his client, Joseph M. Lloyd, who was charged in a federal court in New Mexico with possession of and intent to distribute amphetamines. Lloyd was subsequently released on bond. One of the conditions of his release was that he was prohibited from possessing a firearm, destructive device, or other dangerous weapon.

Shortly after Lloyd’s release, Billy provided him with a handgun, holster and box of ammunition, which Billy absolutely knew violated the terms of Lloyd’s bond.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Surpeme Court punished Billy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. July 2014), Billy practices at 5719 Airport Freeway in Haltom City, Texas.
