Judge Paul Sens of New Orleans; nepotistic loser

The state of Louisiana presented Paul Sens with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from Loyola University Law School in New Orleans.

While employed as the chief Municipal Court Judge in New Orleans, Paulie found it acceptable to hire several relatives as employees of the court. Paulie’s relatives range from the highest paid employees at the Municipal Court to the lowest- paid summer interns. The following is an example of Paulie’s relative’s porking out at the public trough.

• $70,642 paid to Paulie’s nephew, Christopher Sens as Clerk of Court
• $58,632 paid to Paulie’s cousin, Stephanie Schnell as assistant judicial administrator

In addition, Paulie has a cozy relationship with Orleans Parish Sheriff Marlin Gusman who hired Paulie’s wife Ann Sens at $90,000 a year as a property appraiser. In a show of appreciation, Paulie then hired Sheriff Gusman’s wife Renee at $30,000 a year as a substance abuse counselor for the Municipal Court.

After he was exposed as Louisiana’s Premier Family Man for his hiring practices, Paulie relinquished his position as Chief Judge, which meant he was no longer in charge of hiring employees for the Court.

It seems as though Sly and the Family Stone had Paulie in their thoughts when they recorded “It’s a Family Affair.” If written with Paulie in mind, it would have sent something like this:

It should be noted that in early May 2014, Paulie’s wife Ann was arrested and booked on suspicion of domestic abuse battery and public intimidation. The domestic abuse involved Ann allegedly beating the crap out of Paulie the Loser.

As we speak (ca. July 2014) Paulie remains sitting as a Municipal Court judge in New Orleans, Louisiana.
