Judge James Mason unfortunately sits on the Domestic Relations (family) and Juvenil
 e Court in Franklin County (Columbus), Ohio.
Judge James Mason is without doubt a die-in-the-wool political hack who dedicated his career carrying water for the local Republican Party in Franklin County, Ohio.
Prior to ascending to the bench, Judge James Mason spent six unremarkable years as a state representative.
Judge James Mason, like his counterparts on the Domestic/Juvenile Court in Columbus, also totally ignored the undisputed fact that retired Judge Stephen Yarbrough of Toledo had been bilking the county and the state by billing for hours never worked and travel and lodging expenses he did not incur.
In fact, from 2006 through 2008, Judge James Mason repeatedly appointed Judge Stephen Yarbrough to cases in Columbus, thereby assuring that Yarbrough could continue to steal from the taxpayers, which of course he did.
In another example of Judge James Mason’s unethical behavior, he was more than happy to carry water in the highly publicized divorce case involving Jill and Steve Schottenstein. Steve Schottenstein is a multi-millionaire as is many of his family members.
During the course of the Schottenstein divorce case, Judge James Mason repeatedly entered rulings that would lead any reasonably intelligent person to conclude that he is practicing misogynist. Of course it goes without saying that Judge James Mason wasn’t about to enter any unfavorable rulings against Steve Schottenstein given his political clout with Chief Justice Thomas Moyer, et al.
