The state of California provided Michael Wayne Champ with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from Pepperdine University Law School in Malibu, California.

 

The California State Bar Court found Mike guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Mike’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree – 2011

  1. Failed to assist client in responding to discovery
  2. Failed to provide competent legal representation (Moron)
  3. Failed to oppose or respond to various motions filed by opposing counsel
  4. Failed to keep client informed of significant developments in his case
  5. Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up Yours, said Mike!)
  6. Failed to pay client funds to client for two years
  7. Failed to take necessary steps to avoid prejudice to client

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfit s sitting on the California State Bar Court punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

 

Mike’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree – 2012

  1. Failed to respond to client inquires as to status of legal matter
  2. Failed to take steps to avoid prejudice to client
  3. Failed to provide competent legal representation (Dumbo)
  4. Failed to return client file to client after being fired

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfit s sitting on the California State Bar Court punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of his law license.

 

In truth, the comedians sitting on the State Bar Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Mike.

 

Mike’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree – 2013

  1. Failed to provide competent legal representation (Dufus)
  2. Failed to communicate with client
  3. Improperly withdrew from client’s personal injury case
  4. Failed to appear at multiple court hearings on client‘s behalf
  5. Failed to keep client informed of significant developments in her case
  6. Failed to promptly pay out client funds
  7. Failed to take steps to avoid foreseeable prejudice to client
  8. Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up Yours, said Mike!)

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfit s sitting on the California State Bar Court punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. July 2014), Mike practices with Champ & Associates at 5740 Valerie Avenue in Woodland Hills, California, which is located in Los Angeles County.
