Attorney Eugene Fulton Jr. of Columbia, SC; serial offender

The state of Michigan presented Eugene Charles Fulton Jr. with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from the University of South Carolina Law School.

Disciplinary Counsel found Eugene guilty of the following misconduct.

Eugene’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to promptly notify third party of receipt of funds
  • Failed to exhibit respect for the rights of third persons
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up Yours, said Eugene!)
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct demonstrating unfitness to practice law
  • Willfully failed to comply with subpoena

As a consequence of his misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the South Carolina Supreme Court punished Eugene by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

Eugene’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)

  • Failed to consult with client re: means by which clients’ objectives are to be accomplished

As a consequence of his misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the South Carolina Supreme Court punished Eugene by gifting him with another complimentary reprimand.

In addition to the 2 bites of the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree aforementioned, Eugene received his first complimentary reprimand in 1995 for engaging in a variety of misconduct.
