Retired Judge Robert Franklin of Toledo, OH;  one of the good guys

For many, many years, Judge Robert Franklin sat as an elected judge on the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas in Lucas County, Ohio.

Sadly for Judge Robert Franklin, a sentiment I’m sure he would wholeheartedly agree with, in the mid-1990s, the Administrative Judge for Lucas County in Lucas County Common Pleas assigned him to case wherein attorney David R. Pheils, Jr. was pursuing a sham claim (is there another kind in regards to Pheils? against the Watchdawg.

During this time, Judge Robert Franklin entered orders that were both adverse and/or favorable to me despite his acknowledged dislike of attorney David R. Pheils, Jr.

Judge Robert Franklin’s opinion for attorney Pheils was in keeping with the unanimous findings of his cohorts on the court over the years (ca. 1975-1995) that Pheils was a corrupt attorney.

Kudos to Judge Robert Franklin for dispensing rulings that favored Pheils even though he, just like is brethren on the court rightfully found Pheils to be a contemptuous individual.

In truth, my fond memories of Judge Robert Franklin's integrity first came to fruition when he was sitting on the Toledo Muncipal Court in the mid 1960s. At that time, I appeared before him in regards to a speeding ticket. I was forever impressed with his demeanor and ability to treat those who came before him with total respect. That memory can never be erased from this ol' Wathcog's memory bank.

In conclusion, I only wish that there were more Judge Robert Franklin's sitting on the bench in Ohio and elsewhere,
