Attorney A. Bret Steig of Roseland, NJ; ethical misfit

The state of New Jersey presented A. Bret Steig with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from Albany Law School.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Bret guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to comply with mandatory recordkeeping rules
  • Failed to perform monthly three-way reconciliations
  • Allowed theft of over $9,000 from trust account to go undetected for three years

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey

Supreme Court punished Bret by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.

As we speak (ca. June 2014), Bret practices at 184 Eagle Rock Avenue in Roseland, New Jersey.
