Judge Jean Boyd of Fort Worth; apologist for the rich, lifetime porker

The state of Texas presented Lucy H. “Jean” Boyd with a law license in 1979 after she graduated from South Texas University Law School.

Judge Boyd has had her significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough since 1987 when she became a Associate Judge in Tarrant County. In 1995 she was elevated to the position of Tarrant Count Judge for the 323rd Family District Court.

In late 2013, Judge Boyd presided over the case of 15-year-old Ethan Couch who was arrested for stealing beer from a Wal-Mart before speeding his pick-up trust with seven passengers down a dark rural road, and ramming into four pedestrians who were attending to a broken down car.

Prosecutors asked that Boyd sentence Cough to the maximum of 20-years in prison. However, after Couch pleaded guilty to intoxication manslaughter, Boyd sentenced him to 10 years probation and no jail time. No jail time for killing someone while driving drunk. Apparently, Judge Boyd missed his calling as a Standup Comedian!

Instead of prison, Cough will spend his time in a inpatient rehabilitation center in Southern California at a cost of $450,000-per-year that his millionaire father agreed to pay.

During his drunken joy ride, Couth not only hit four pedestrians including a youth minister; he also hit another parked care that was then pushed into another moving vehicle. At least two passengers in Couch’s vehicle were thrown from his pick-up-truck and critically injured. One victim cannot move or talk.

Tarrant County Sheriff Dee Anderson said it was “the most difficult accident scene we’ve ever had to work.” Cough’s book alcohol level was three times the legal limit and he also had Valium in his system.

At the sentencing hearing, psychologist Gary Miller testified that Cough suffered from an affliction known as “affluenza,” which he laughingly claimed was “suffered by very wealthy individuals who do not take responsibility for their own actions.” In truth, Miller is nothing more than a paid whore who is willing to provide rich people with any diagnosis they are seeking.

Manslaughter caused by intoxication is a second-degree felony in Texas and carries a penalty of no less than 2 years and no more than 20 years in prison. For Judge Boyd to allow Couch to get off with no prison time because he’s the son of a multi-millionaire is a total disgrace. Moreover, it means that the life of the person killed by Couch is of no consequence.

Hopefully, the good folks in Fort Worth will toss Boyd off the bench if he has the chutzpah to run for reelection. If he loses, he can always apply for a job as a greeter at the local Wal-Mart.

As we speak (ca. June 2014), Judge Boyd remains sitting on the bench in Forth Worth, Texas.
