Attorney Jan Smith of Alexandria, VA; ethical dwarf

The state of Virginia presented Jan Smith with a law license in 2000 after he graduated from the University of Virginia Law School.

The Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board found Jan guilty of the following misconduct.

The state of Virginia presented Janis C. Smith with a law license in 1993 after she graduated from Catholic University Law School.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to file required notice of appeal on client’s behalf
  • Allowed statute of limitations to toll re: client’s personal injury claim

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board punished Elizabeth by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. June 2014), Jan practices at 7212 Burtonwood Drive in Alexandria, Virginia.
