Attorney Vivian Chiang of BC; ethical misfit

The Law Society presented Vivian with a law license in 1996.

The Disciplinary Committee of the Bar Society found Vivian guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Vivian represented a company in which she was a principal and had a significant personal financial interest in filing an application before the British Columbia Supreme Court.

In her filing with the court, Vivian intentionally misled (lied) in seeking a short leave. Moreover, Vivian sought said relief despite the fact that the court ordered that she was not permitted to do so.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Vivian’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. She previously received a complimentary admonishment for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Committee punished Vivian by gifting her with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2014), Vivian continues to practice in the British Columbia area.
