Attorney John Shane of Olean, NY; congenital liar

The state of New York presented John Michael Shane with a law license in 1959 after he graduated from Georgetown University Law School.

The Grievance Committee of the 8th Judicial District of State Supreme Court in Rochester found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Johnny agreed to represent a client on a contingent-fee basis to recover damages from a municipality on the ground that it had enacted certain zoning regulations that reduced the value of the client’s business.

In 1986, Johnny lied to his client that papers had been served on the municipality. From 1986 through 2012, Johnny repeatedly lied to his client by telling him he was pursuing the lawsuit. Johnny also supported his lies with several false documents, including a phony court order and notice of appeal.

It wasn’t until July 2012, that Johnny finally admitted to his client that he was a serial liar.

As a consequence of his egregious misconduct covering a period of 26 years, the enablers for Attorney Misfit s sitting on the Eighth Judicial District Grievance Committee punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (May 2014), Johnny the Liar practices at 201 Leo Moss Drive in Olean, New York.
