Chief Justice Roy Moore (R-AL): Today’s “Lunatic” Award Winner

Congratulations to….

Chief Justice Roy Moore (R-AL)

Today’s “Lunatic” Award Winner

The state of Alabama presented Roy Moore with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from the University of Alabama Law School.

Roy is a religious zealot who was removed as Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court in 2003 for his refusal to comply with a federal judge’s order to remove a monument of the Ten Commandments from the Alabama Judicial building. Put simply, Roy determined that he wasn’t necessary for him to follow court orders like you or I would be required to do or face imprisonment for contempt.

During a recent (05/03/04) rant before the T wenty-Eighth District Republican Club, Roy argued for condemning U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg for holding a flexible view of the Constitution. Roy made this proclamation despite the fact that is calling for a new constitutional convention to rewrite the original constitution.

Roy the Loon told the gathering of low I.Q. followers that same-sex marriage was intended to undermine the United States and its foundational institutions. The Loon then went on to say:

“It’s not about two loons like me, I’m sorry I mean two men getting married or two women, its about destroying an institution ordained of God.” Roy went on to argue that a constitutional amendment was needed to define marriage as between one man and one woman.

The Loon went on to say:

  • “Our children are told they can’t pray in school and they teach them evolution.”
  • “Why can’t they see the fear of God is the only true solution?”
  • “Our schools have become a battleground while all across the land.
  • “Christians just shrug their shoulders, afraid to take stand.”

  • Loony Roy finished his rant by saying:

  • “I think there’s a new day coming.”
  • “I don’t think we need to submit to the liberal agenda any longer and think they’re going to win. They do not win, they do not win.”
  • “God’s waiting to see what we do, what we as His people, called by His name will do because He can change it, just like He had the Berlin Wall fall, just like so many things have happened.”
  • We’ve got to rise up and be the American’s we’re meant to be.”

This Certified Lunatic and Religious Zealot actually had thoughts about running for the President several years ago. If someone of Roy’s ilk were to become president, I would immediately advise all of my children and grandchildren to move to another country.

And lastly, how is it possible for this Buffoon to retain his seat on the Alabama Supreme Court when he’s spewing forth this type of crap? Apparently, engaging in conduct that tends to bring the judiciary into disrepute isn’t considered judicial misconduct in Alabama.

Congrats Roy; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Lunatics”; you are far too humble.
