Judge Gerald Council of Trenton, NJ; moronic bully

The state of New Jersey presented Gerald J. Council with a law license in 1984 after he graduated from Howard University Law School.

Unfortunately for the folks living in the Trenton area, Jerry is the presiding judge for Mercer County.

In early April, the New Jersey Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct filed an ethics complaint was against Jerry for discourteous and undignified conduct when he referred to various court personnel by nicknames. Some of the nicknames are as follows:

  • Called senior probation office “my little pet”
  • Referred to drug court coordinator as “hop-a-long” after she had hip surgery

In another case, Gerry publicly humiliated, belittled and demeaned another drug court coordinator by referring to her as “my problem child” and by pulling her by the ear to the exist of his courtroom.

All that’s left now is to see what if any punishment the patron saints for Judicial Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court will mete out to Jerry for his misconduct.

As we speak (ca. April 2014), Jerry remains sitting as the presiding judge in Mercer County.
