Judge Douglas Chumbley of Miami, certified pervert

Sadly for the good citizens of Miami-Dade County, Florida, ex-Gov. Jeb Bush appointed Judge Douglas Chumbley in 2006 to the juvenile court.

Now, I’m not about to blame Gov. Jeb Bush for this unfortunate appointment because it’s obvious that he wouldn’t have recognized Judge Douglas Chumbley if they were standing next to each other while urinating at separate urinals at the local Hooter’s bar at 401 Biscayne Boulevard in Miami.

On Sept. 25, 2008, Judge Douglas Chumbley exposed himself at a urinal in a men’s restroom near a Starbuck’s coffer shop on the Miami University campus.

University police investigated and Coral Gables Police formerly charged Judge Douglas Chumbley with a first degree misdemeanor.

Judge Douglas Chumbley (aka, The Perv) immediately resigned his judgeship after he was criminally charged.

Miami-Dade’s Chief Judge, Joseph P. Farina (aka, Chief Apologist/Enabler for Judicial Misfits) stated: “Of course this news is distressing, but the law, including the presumption of innocence, applies to everyone no matter their station in life. Under the circumstances, Judge Chumbley’s personal decision to resign is appropriate as we strive to maintain the public’s trust and confidence in our courts.” (WSVN – Channel 7 – Miami)

Apparently, Judge Douglas Chumbley’s conduct in exposing his genitalia at Starbuck’s was of no real consequence. An unreliable source indicated that such an act would have been relatively short to say the least.

The enablers and apologists sitting on the Florida Judicial Commission and their counterparts on the Florida Supreme Court took no action of any kind in disciplining Judge Douglas Chumbley (aka, The Perv).

In fact, according to the Florida Bar, Judge Douglas Chumbley is practicing law at 100 SE 2nd St., Suite 4000 in Miami. (http://tinyurl.com/ygpq9aa)

This certified pervert further proves that the selection process based on so-called merit for judgeships in Florida and elsewhere is an unmitigated joke.

Conclusion

I suppose it wouldn’t have been fair if the Florida Judicial Commission and/or the Florida Supreme Court would have disbarred Judge Douglas Chumbley, because in doing so they would have deprived him of the opportunity to earn a dishonest living as an attorney.
