Attorney Tomas Pila of Miami; ethical leprechaun

The state of Florida provided Tomas A. Pila with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from Duquesne University Law School.

The Florida State Bar found Timmy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to respond to client requests for information
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to return numerous calls from client

In one matter, a client hired Tomas to recover $60,000, which the client lost as part of a mortgage investment. The client pad Tomas $3,000 on an earned retainer.

Due to Tomas’ gross negligence, his client’s claim was subsequently barred because it was not timely pursued.

As one would suspect, this isn’t Tomas’ First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary admonishment for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Tomas by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. April 2014) Tomas practices at 3191 Coral Way in Miami, Florida.
