Attorney Richard Adkison of Chipley, FL; ethical misfit

The state of Florida provided Richard Kerry Adkison with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from the University of Mississippi Law School.

The Florida State Bar found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

  1. Failed to safeguard client property
  2. Failed to maintain proper records regarding client funds
  3. Failed to properly supervise non-attorney staff
  4. Failed to keep separate receipts for incoming funds for each client
  5. Failed to perform required monthly reconciliations of trust accounts
  6. Negligence led to office employees stealing $237,000 in client funds

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary term of probation.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Florida Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Dick.

As we speak (ca. April 2014) Mike practices in the Chipley, Florida area.
