Attorney James Dwight Smith of Tuscaloosa; ethical misfit

The state of Alabama presented James Dwight Smith with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from the University of Alabama Law School.

The Alabama State Bar Association found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to properly consult with client
• Failed to keep client informed about status of legal matter

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Alabama Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
