Attorney Richard Nemelka of Salt Lake City; ethical goblin

The state of Utah presented Richard S. Nemelka with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from the University of Utah Law School.

The Ethics and Discipline Committee of the Utah Supreme Court found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

1. Personally violated or induced or assisted another in violating disciplinary rule
2. Failed to terminate representation when required
3. Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
4. Victim of misconduct was vulnerable
5. Violated attorney/client confidences
6. Failed to promptly provide client with copy of file after being fired

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Utah Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
