Attorney Barbara Lieberman of Northfield, NJ; serial thief

The state of New Jersey presented Barbara J. Lieberman with a law license in 1977

The Law Society of Singapore found Martin guilty of the following misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Singapore Court of Appeals punished Martin by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak, (ca. March 2015), Barbara practices at in Northfield, New Jersey

On March 19, 2014, Barbara was arrested and jailed in Atlantic County until she posts a $300,000 bail.

Barbara is being criminally charged with a scheme that targeted elderly clients without close family so that she and her cohorts could strip them of some of their estate assets.

Barbara found it acceptable to steal from clients of “A Better Choice,” a company that claimed to offer “custom designed life care and legal financial planning to seniors who wished to continue living in their own homes.

Acting state attorney general John J. Hoffman said that Barbara obtained through false pretenses—or forged—a power of attorney from victims to take control of their bank accounts. (Philadelphia Inquirer)

In several cases, Barbara executed victims’ will and continued to siphon funds after the victims’ deaths.

Criminal investigators searched Barbara’s home and her Northfield law office and have frozen $5 million in assets.

“A Better Choice” provided services such as driving elderly clients to appointments, paying their bills and performing household chores and running errands for them. Barbara and her cohorts then transferred victims’ funds to accounts they controlled and began siphoning money away as they also paid bills for their unsuspecting clients while they waited for them to die.

All that’s left now is to see how long Barbara’s prison sentence will be, if any. Of course there’s always the remote chance she’s not guilty. If convicted, there is no guarantee that the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court will punish Barbara in any meaningful way.
