Attorney Ben Swift of Dayton, OH; lying workaholic

The state of Ohio presented Ben Musa Swift with a law license in 1995 after he graduated from Ohio State University Law School.

Benny earned the vast majority of his income from being appointed to represent indigent folks in the courts in and around

Dayton, Ohio.

Benny thought it was cute to actually bill the same client by claiming he worked 29-hours on the same day.

Over the course of one year, Benny handled more than 800 court-appointed cases. During that time, Benny the Workaholic claimed to have put in workdays totaling 29 hours, 23 hours, 21.5 hours, and 21 hours.

Benny’s billable hours averaged out to nine (9) hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. In other words, Benny would have us believe that he worked every Saturday and Sunday, and every holiday including Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years. This also means that Benny laughingly claims he never took a vacation or a day off to attend a family wedding, funeral or reunion.

After the Dayton Daily News exposed Benny as a sham workaholic, he defended himself by spewing for the following hyperbolic (BS) comments.

  • While beaming with pride in his accomplishments, Benny explained that “like any other thing in life, if somebody is doing a good job, you’re liable to go back to them.”
  • “Certainly, these are aggressive hours, but there’s not necessarily a smoking gun suggesting fraud.

Clearly, Benny missed his calling as a standup comedian.

Benny was never disciplined for his conduct by the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court. In truth, overbilling clients by charging for work never performed or for more than 24 hours in one day, is considered a novel way to earn a dishonest living.

As we speak (ca. March 2014), Benny practices at 333 West First Street in Dayton, Ohio.
