Attorney Steven Smith Jr. of Calabasas, CA; ethical goblin

The state of California provided Steven Earl Smith Jr. with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) Law School.

The California State Bar Court found Steve guilty of the following misconduct.

  1. Failed to communicate with clients
  2. Failed to perform duties he was employed to perform
  3. Failed to appear at multiple court hearings
  4. Failed to comply with documentation requirements
  5. Disciplined by bankruptcy court for engaging in a variety of misconduct
  6. Failed to provide competent representation (Moron)
  7. Failed to communicate with clients
  8. Failed to properly maintain his client trust account
  9. Assisted others in the illegal practice of law
  10. Failed to promptly refund unearned fees (crook)

At least two clients were forced to sue Steve because he refused to refund unearned fees. They subsequently obtained judgments against Stevie, but he did not fully pay the court judgments.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the California State Bar Court punished Steve by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. March 2014), Steve practices at 24011 Ventura Blvd in Calabasas, California, which is located in the Los Angeles area.
