Attorney Dennis Scott of Anacortes, WA; ethical misfit
The state of Washington presented Dennis Rollin Scott with a law license in
1976 after he graduated from the University of Houston Law School.
The Washington State Bar found Dennis guilty of the following misconduct.
- Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
- Failed to communicate with client
- Failed to act fairly toward opposing party and counsel
- Failed to represent best interests of client
- Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
- Failed to appear at court scheduled hearings
- Failed to comply with court orders
- Failed to keep clients informed of status of legal matter
- Failed to return unearned fees
- Failed to take appropriate steps to protect client interests after discharge
As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the
Washington State Supreme Court punished Dennis by gifting him with a complimentary
3-month suspension of his law license.
As we speak (March 2014), Dennis continues to practice in the Anacortes, Washington area.
