Attorney Peter Morrissette of St. Johnsbury, VT; ethical misfit

The state of Vermont presented Peter J. Morrissette with a law license in 1968 after he graduated from Boston College Law School.

The Vermont Bar Court found Pete guilty of the following misconduct.

  1. Engaged in a conflict of interest
  2. Failed to provide required notice to client re: conflict of interest issues
  3. Altered fully executed legal documents in quit-claim deed
  4. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  5. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  6. Clients (victims) suffered injuries as result of Pete’s misconduct
  7. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished Pete by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. March 2014) Pete practices with Morrissette & Neylon, LLP at

190 East Avenue in St. Johnsbury, Vermont.
