Attorney Jeffrey Sondel of New York City; ethical dwarf

The state of New York presented Jeffrey M. Sondel with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from John Marshall Law School.

The Departmental Disciplinary Committee found Jeff guilty of the following misconduct, which was predicated on a suspension imposed upon him by the Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review.

1. Engaged in obnoxious conduct at immigration hearing
2. Failed to provide competent representation in immigration matter
3. Repeatedly argued with immigration judge 
4. Frequently engaged in sarcastic behavior in court
5. Engaged in tangents and outbursts in court
6. Disobeyed court orders

As a consequence of his misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Disciplinary Commission punished Jeff by gifting him with a complimentary 7-month suspension of his law license.
