Attorney Burton Gould of Wailuku, HI; ethical misfit

The state of Hawaii presented Burton D. Gould with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from Northwestern University Law School.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Burton guilty of the following misconduct.

  1. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, dishonesty, deceit or misrepresentation
  2. Knowingly disobeyed an obligation under the rules of a tribunal
  3. Engaged in the illegal practice of law in a state he wasn’t licensed in
  4. Displayed cavalier attitude to complying with ethical rules

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on Disciplinary Counsel punished Burton by gifting him with a complimentary 14-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2014), Burton practices at 2020 Main Street in Wailuku, Hawaii.
