Attorney Kimberly Norton of Galesburg, IL; ethical misfit

The state of Illinois presented Kimberly A. Norton with a law license in 1991. He also obtained a law license from Iowa in 1977.

The Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission found Kim guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Kin took a sworn statement of her criminal client’s co-defendant without the required prior notice and consent of the co-defendant’s attorney.

Kim also failed to turn over to her client’s new lawyer a transcript of the sworn statement, in which the co-defendant exonerated Kim’s client from participation in a crime.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Kim by gifting her with a complimentary 90-day suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2014) Angelo practices at 171 South Cherry Street in Galesburg, Illinois.
