Attorney Sheldon Nagelberg of Chicago; greedy loser

The state of Illinois presented Sheldon Bart Nagelberg with a law license in 1975. He also obtained a law license from Iowa in 1977.

The Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission found Sheldon guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Sheldon represented a client in a criminal case arising out of a federal investigation known as Operation Safe Roads.

Sheldon charged his client a flat fee of $150,000, promising the client that he would go to trial on the case. However, the case did not go trial because it was resolved by a plea agreement.

It was determined that Sheldon had charged the client an excessive fee and to have improperly divided a legal fee with another lawyer.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Sheldon by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2014) Sheldon practices with the Law Offices of Sheldon Bart Nagelberg, PC at 53 W Jackson Blvd in Chicago, Illinois.
