Attorney James Martz of Milwaukee; convicted loser

The state of Wisconsin presented James T. Martz with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct

In one matter, Jimmy represented a client facing charges related to a domestic incident. A friend of the victim witnessed the alleged criminal conduct. The victim told the witness that she didn’t have to appear at the trial and asked the witness to call Jimmy.

Subsequently, Jimmy told the witness that even though she received a subpoena to appear at the trial, she could ignore it and that nothing would happen to her if she didn’t appear because the case would be dismissed, …”and nobody cares.”  At the end of the call to the witness, Jimmy laughed while saying, “I hope, I hope I never see you again.

As a consequence of his illegal conduct regarding the witness, Jimmy was criminally convicted of contempt of court.

As a consequence of his misconduct, cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. February 2014) Jimmy practices with Schmidt, Martz & Smith, Ltd. at 4811 South 76th Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
