The Law Society presented Douglas Edward Dent with a law license in 1976.

The Disciplinary Committee of the Bar Society found Doug guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Doug was given several thousand dollars by a client for the sole purpose of making child support payments to the client’s ex-wife, which Doug then deposited into a trust account.

Subsequently, Doug improperly withdrew $2,000 from his client’s trust account for the purpose of paying fees and for other purposes having absolutely nothing to do with paying the client’s court-ordered child support.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Committee punished Doug by gifting him with a complimentary 45-day suspension of his law license.

 As we speak (ca. February 2014) Doug practices at 241 Birch Avenue in Victoria, British Columbia.
