Attorney Kelly Turner of Cumming, GA; ethical misfit

The state of Georgia presented Kelly Lynn Turner with a law license in 1998 after she graduated from John Marshall Law School.

The Georgia State Bar found Kelly guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Kelly represented a client in a divorce and domestic-relations matter for several years at the rate of $225 per hour.

Before the final divorce decree was signed, Kelly met with the client and agreed to reduce her hourly rate to $190 per hour. However, she continued to bill the client at $225 an hour. When the client complained to the State Bar, Kelly finally admitted she had overbilled the client and was forced to reimburse the amounts she had overcharged.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Georgia Supreme Court punished Kelly by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. February 2014), Kelly practices at 106 Pilgrim Village Drive in Cumming, Georgia.
