► Attorney Thomas Monahan of Paramus, NJ; ethical elf

The state of New Jersey presented Thomas P. Monahan with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from Seton Hall University Law School.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Tommy guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Tommy found it acceptable to submit two (2) certifications to a federal judge in support of a motion to extend the time within which to file an appeal.

In the certifications, Tommy knowingly misrepresented [lied] that when the appeal was due to be filed, he was seriously ill and confined to his home on bed rest and, therefore, either unable to work or unable to prepare and file the appeal.

Tommy also engaged in the illegal practice of law during the time his law license was suspended.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary Censure.

As we speak (ca. January 2014) Tommy practices Bittiger Triolo PC at 12 Route 17 North in Paramus, New Jersey.
