Attorney Murray Trachten of New Haven; ethical gremlin

The state of Connecticut provided Murray Trachten with a law license in 1963 after he graduated from

The Statewide Grievance Committee found Murray guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to keep client reasonably informed about status of legal matter
  • Engaged in representing clients with conflicting interests
  • Failed to obtain written consent from clients re: conflict of interest

In one matter, Murray persuaded Anthony Tedosio and his wife Isabelle, ages 90 and 76 respectively to loan $400,000 of their retirement funds on dilapidated property owned by Murray’s clients. Subsequently, Anthony and Isabelle lost the $400,000 in retirement funds thanks to Murray’s conduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Murray by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. January 2014) Murray practices with the Trachten Law Firm LLC at 679 State Street in New Haven, Connecticut.
