Attorney Donald Barton of Brevard, NC; ethical dwarf The state of North Carolina presented Donald H. Barton with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from Samford University Law School.
The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Arthur guilty of the following misconduct.
In one matter, Donnie appeared before a judge and obtained an ex parte (one sided) in a custody matter without joining all necessary parties and without providing the required notice to the opposing party.
Donnie submitted a proposed custody order to the trial judge that mistakenly asserted that sole custody was awarded to the child’s grandparents when it was not.
If it had not been for Donnie’s improper failure to provide notice of the hearing to the opposing party, additional court hearings to correct the problem of and improper court order awarding custody to the grandparents would have been avoided.
As a consequence of his misconduct the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Donnie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
As we speak (ca. January 2014) Donnie practices at 205 East Main Street in Brevard, North Carolina.
