Attorney Michele Tomer of Akron; ethical misfit

The state of Ohio presented Michele Ann Tomer with a law license in 1992 after she graduated from the University of Akron Law School.

The Akron Bar Assn Grievance Committee found Michelle guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  2. Failed to effectively communicate with clients in two matters
  3. Misused interest on deposit in her attorney trust account
  4. Engaged in dishonest conduct during ethics investigation (Up Yours, said Michele!)
  5. Failed to return client phone calls
  6. Commingled client funds with firm funds
  7. Failed to advise client that she didn’t carry legal malpractice insurance
  8. Failed to fully refund client’s retainer until after institution of ethics investigation
As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Michele by gifting her with a complimentary stayed two-year suspension of her law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Michele.

As we speak (ca. December 2013) Michele practices at 679 West Market Street in Akron, Ohio.
