Judge Charles Brehmer of Bakersfield, CA; serial scofflaw

The state of California presented Charles R. Brehmer with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from California Western Law School.

The California Commission on Judicial Performance Board found Charlie Al guilty of the following misconduct, which related to an investigation and findings of the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC).

Charlie violated California law when he accepted contributions in excess of $100 as follows:

  • 1,000 from the Law Offices of Young & Nichols
  • $500 from Steve Nichols
  • $500 from Todd Gall

Charlie also failed to disclose the true source of a $15,000 loan that his campaign treasurer made to the campaign. The treasurer the funds to Charlie so that he could contribute the funds from his personal account to his campaign account. Charlie then lied about the source of the funds on three separate campaign statement reports.

Charlie also repeatedly violated campaign laws by failing to report contributions and/or expenditures as the law required.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Charlie by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.

As we speak (ca. August 2014), Kenny continues to sit as a Kern County Superior Court Judge in Bakersfield, California.
